These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Sagene mobile app, the Sagene church admin web portal, and any related services (together, the "Service") operated by Infinite Agape LLC, doing business as Sagene ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Sagene. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
2. Description of the Service
Sagene is a Christian discipleship platform that:
- Provides a structured 90 to 180 day discipleship journey for new believers
- Connects new believers with the evangelist who led them to Christ
- Provides an AI-powered companion for asking questions, with Scripture-grounded responses
- Allows churches to support their evangelists and disciples through a dashboard and content sharing
- Enables in-app messaging between connected users
3. Accounts
You are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information when creating your account
- Keeping your password confidential
- All activity that occurs under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Permitted Use
You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial discipleship and ministry purposes consistent with the values described on the platform.
5. Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Use the Service to harass, abuse, threaten, or harm any person
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organization
- Send spam, promotional content, or content unrelated to the discipleship purpose of the Service
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our systems
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the Service
- Use the Service to transmit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringes on the rights of others
- Share another user's private messages, AI conversation themes, or personal data without their consent
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without our written permission
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service
6. The AI Companion — Important Disclaimer
The AI Companion is a tool to help new believers find Scripture-based answers to questions. It is not a pastor, theologian, counselor, or spiritual authority. AI-generated responses are not a substitute for:
- Pastoral counsel
- Mental health care or medical advice
- Legal, financial, or professional advice
- Real human relationships in a local church
If you are in spiritual or emotional crisis, please contact your evangelist, your pastor, or a qualified professional. If you are in immediate physical danger, call 911 or your local emergency services. AI responses may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete; we encourage you to verify information against Scripture and discuss it with your evangelist or church.
7. User Content
You retain ownership of the messages you send and the content you create within the Service. By using the Service, you grant Sagene a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display your content as needed to provide the Service to you and the users you communicate with.
You are responsible for the content you send. Do not share confidential information, financial details, passwords, or other sensitive data through messages or the AI Companion.
8. Donations
Donations support the operation of Sagene. Donations are processed through a third-party payment processor and are subject to that processor's terms and policies. Unless otherwise required by law, donations are non-refundable. Recurring donations can be canceled at any time from your account settings; cancellation stops future charges and does not refund prior donations.
9. Intellectual Property
The Sagene name, logo, app design, written content (including journey content), and all related materials are the property of Sagene and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission, except as expressly permitted by these Terms.
Scripture quotations within the Service are from publicly available translations and are used in accordance with each translation's permitted use guidelines.
10. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third-party providers for cloud hosting, AI-generated content, payment processing, push notifications, and email delivery. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or actions of these providers. Your use of any third-party service that we incorporate may be subject to that provider's terms and privacy policies.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THE ACCURACY OR RELIABILITY OF AI-GENERATED CONTENT.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAGENE AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100), OR THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Sagene harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person or entity.
14. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms other users or our business. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature survive termination (such as Sections 7 through 13) will continue to apply.
15. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; when we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated within the app or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Maryland, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
