This Privacy Policy explains how Infinite Agape LLC, doing business as Sagene ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use the Sagene mobile app, the Sagene church admin web portal, or any related services (together, the "Service").
By using Sagene, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. The type of account you choose (new believer, evangelist, or church admin) is also stored.
Discipleship Journey Data
If you sign up as a new believer, we collect:
- Your spiritual birthday (the date you started your faith journey)
- The invite code you used (if any) and the evangelist or church it links you to
- Onboarding answers (whether you own a Bible, have attended church, have a home church)
- Your daily progress: which days you've completed, your current day, and your active streak
- Your last active timestamp
AI Companion Conversations
Messages you send to the AI Companion are processed by a third-party AI service provider to generate responses. We do not store the exact text of your conversations on our servers. We only store the topic categories of your questions (for example: "prayer", "doubt", "the Bible") so that your evangelist can see general themes you are exploring, not the specific words you wrote.
Messages
In-app messages between you and your evangelist (or between evangelists and church admins) are stored on our servers so they can be delivered. Only the sender and recipient can read these messages; they are not visible to other users or to Sagene staff except as required to operate or troubleshoot the Service.
Push Notification Tokens
If you grant permission, we store a push notification token issued by your device's operating system. This token allows us to send you reading reminders, message notifications, and milestone celebrations. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Donation Information
If you choose to donate, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number or banking details on our servers. We may store a record of your donation amount, date, and any optional honoree name you provide.
Technical Information
We may automatically collect basic technical data such as device type, operating system version, app version, and crash logs to help us diagnose problems and improve the Service.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Service
- To deliver the daily discipleship journey content tailored to your current day
- To enable messaging between you and your evangelist or church admins
- To send push notifications you have opted into (daily reminders, messages, milestone celebrations, evangelist alerts about disciple inactivity)
- To allow your evangelist and church to see your engagement and topic themes so they can support your growth
- To process donations through Stripe
- To improve the Service and fix bugs
- To comply with legal obligations
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described below:
Within the Sagene Service
- Your evangelist can see your name, current day, streak, completion percentage, last active date, and the topic themes of your AI Companion questions.
- Your church admin(s) can see aggregate stats for all disciples in the church, including the data above.
- Other users cannot see your data.
Service Providers
We use trusted third parties to operate the Service. These include providers for:
- Cloud hosting, database, and authentication
- AI-generated responses for the AI Companion
- Push notification delivery
- Donation and payment processing
- Transactional email delivery
These providers process your information only on our behalf and only to provide the Service. We choose providers that maintain industry-standard security practices and that handle data in accordance with applicable privacy laws. Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Sagene, our users, or the public.
4. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep certain records by law.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and the personal data associated with it
- Opt out of push notifications via your device settings or the in-app Settings screen
- Withdraw consent for any optional data processing

6. Children's Privacy
Sagene is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and database row-level security policies. However, no system is perfectly secure. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
8. International Users
If you are located outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or by email.
